ABOUT MY HISTORICAL WORKSHOP

This blog was founded on the basis of photo documentation, which I have been keeping for a few years while sewing historical costumes. The great interest of the people around me in my work led me to establish this site.

What can you find here?

Tutorials, experience, inspiration, recommendations, advice and lessons from my own mistakes, reflections. During the sewing of historical costumes, I always took photo documentation as a kind of remarks of a modern type, which would later help me in further sewing. I believe they will come in handy to someone else. I have been involved in reenacting only since 2015. However, my sincere interest and intensive research have led me to many useful findings, which I am happy to share or talk about.

Although I try to give maximum historical authenticity to everything I create, you will not find here instructions on how to have everything historically correct, only an example of how I tried to achieve it. There are publications and more erudite people for the historical accuracy, whose wise advice I used in my work and also recommended them in the instructions.

What period do I do?

I focus on the second half of the 15th century and the period of the Thirty Years' War. You will meet me mainly at events in the Czech Republic, but also abroad during reconstructions of the regiment of the Thirty Years' War or smaller costume events. You can also contact me on one of the social networks or at vanja.hanzlova@gmail.com.
